Most of Mark's life has been devoted to horses, having represented Great Britain in eventing as a Junior and Young Rider. He comes into training having inherited much knowledge from his Grandfather and Grandmother, Fred and Mercy Rimell. In addition, he has gained invaluable experience from 4 seasons in the Point-to-Point field and his years worknig and riding (as an amateur jockey) in the UK, for the likes of Josh Gifford, David Nicholson, Martin Pipe, Simon Christian and Nigel Twiston-Davies (who Marks rode for as an amateur jockey for 8 seasons, including numerous rides at the Cheltenham Festival and one in the Grand National), as well as sharing a permit with his mother.
Mark has also learned a great deal from his years abroad alongside Michael Dickinson and Jonathon Shepard in America and Colin Hayes in Australia. Mark's education of a young horse is second to none in the racing industry, because he understands the importance of proper schooling to ensure all his horses maintain balanced steering and develop correct muscle on their top line.
Anne came into the partnership having built up and run her own thriving competition yard for the past 12 years. She has also worked as an Assistant Trainer, trained in the Point-to-Point field and has ridden in both Point-to-Point and under rules. Her experience in the showing world is huge, having competed successfully at all of the major shows, including Horse of the Year Show. Anne brings to the partnership a wealth of knowledge that is invaluable when buying horses at the sales, and ensuring the care is of the highest quality in order to achieve the best performances.
